Alok Kumar Agarwal of Alankit Group on Tackling Cybersecurity Challenges in Fintech

Recent data from the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) shows that cybercrime is becoming a bigger problem. Making things worse, India is expected to face a shortage of about three million cybersecurity professionals by the end of 2023. This shortage creates major challenges for businesses, making it harder for them to protect their systems and respond quickly to cyber threats.

One of the biggest cybersecurity breaches happened when hackers attacked the servers of India’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). This led to the compromise of nearly 40 million health records and caused a system outage that lasted for two weeks, says Alok Kumar Agarwal from Alankit. Although AIIMS was able to stop further attacks, the risk of cyber threats remains high.
