The GVK Group, a major business conglomerate, stated on Wednesday that there was no outside pressure to sell its stake in Mumbai airport. This statement came after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed in the Lok Sabha that GVK was forced to hand over the airport to Adani Group by using agencies like the CBI and ED.
GVK Group spokesperson clarified that the decision to sell the Mumbai airport stake to Adani was made by GVK's management without any external influence. They emphasized that there was no question of any pressure being put on them.
Adani Group, currently under scrutiny due to a report by short-seller Hindenburg Research, took over the management of Mumbai airport from GVK in July 2021.
