IAS Subodh Agarwal: Chairman, Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Institute

Senior IAS officer Subodh Agarwal from the Rajasthan cadre will now serve as the Chairman of the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Institute in Jaipur. In a recent transfer order issued by the Rajasthan government, Subodh Agarwal has been given this new responsibility. Previously, he served as the Additional Chief Secretary for the Public Health Engineering and Groundwater Department, as well as the Water Resources Department and State Water Resources Planning Department in Rajasthan.

IAS Subodh Agarwal, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, has held many important positions in the Rajasthan cadre over the years. His extensive experience includes working in 40 different roles, making him a highly versatile officer. Though his family is originally from Uttar Pradesh, Subodh Agarwal attended the Scindia School in Gwalior for his schooling. After completing his 12th grade, he was selected for the IIT entrance exam and joined IIT Delhi in 1983, where he pursued Civil Engineering.

Subodh Agarwal began preparing for the civil services while studying engineering and, in 1988, he was selected for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in the 1988 batch. He was assigned to the Rajasthan cadre. Subodh Agarwal holds a Ph.D. in Economics and also has a Law (LLB) degree.
