Subodh Agarwal Highlights the Potential of Annapurna Bhadar Yojna for Rural Progress Across India

India's rural areas are as diverse as its culture, but they share common challenges such as economic inequality, poor infrastructure, and limited access to quality goods. Even after 78 years of independence, India still faces issues that hinder the growth of its rapidly expanding economy. In a country where the goddess Annapurna is a symbol of nourishment, it's only fitting that we draw inspiration from her to solve these nutritional gaps.

To address these challenges, the Rajasthan government launched a groundbreaking initiative in 2015 to improve and modernize the Public Distribution System (PDS) called the Annapurna Bhandar Yojna. Today, we are speaking with IAS Subodh Agarwal, who was the Principal Secretary for Food and Civil Supplies in Rajasthan and played a key role in executing this initiative. He believes this unique project will not only improve the public distribution system but also boost modern retail.
